Wrabit were a Toronto-based hard rock and AOR outfit whose early-1980s MCA recordings occupy a well-regarded but seldom-surfaced corner of the Canadian rock catalog. Tracks, their 1982 debut, was produced by Jack Richardson — the Toronto producer whose credits include Alice Cooper's classic MCA-era recordings, the Guess Who's most commercially successful work, and Badfinger, among others — a production pedigree that places Tracks in documented company and gives it a lineage that serious collectors of Canadian rock and early-1980s AOR will recognize immediately. The record itself delivers what that pedigree suggests: polished hard rock with the melodic sensibility and tight arrangement that Richardson consistently drew from his artists, occupying the same early-1980s Canadian AOR space as April Wine, Loverboy, and Chilliwack at their most commercially focused.
