Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Nutrocker (1972 / Cotillion / 7" Promo 45 / SP Specialty Pressing / Original Sleeve)

A 1972 Cotillion promo pressing of ELP's "Nutrocker" — a 7" SP Specialty Pressing in its original Cotillion sleeve, in exceptional condition. Media grades Near Mint (NM/M-). Sleeve grades Near Mint (NM/M-).

"Nutrocker" is ELP's orchestral rock adaptation of Tchaikovsky's "March of the Toy Soldiers," released as a single on Cotillion in 1972 to support the Pictures at an Exhibition concert recording. This is the standard promo pressing — the SP Specialty Pressing variant distributed to radio stations and industry contacts ahead of commercial release — in its original Cotillion sleeve, graded Near Mint on both media and sleeve. Original promo sleeves from 1972 Cotillion pressings survive in this condition far less often than the records themselves; finding media and sleeve both at NM in a five-decade-old 45 is exactly the kind of detail that separates a collection from an accumulation. The pressing plays cleanly, looks exceptional, and presents as close to the way it left the plant as a used record from this era can reasonably be expected to.
